You might be wondering why is a divorce lawyer interested in the DSM 5? I’m not per se, but I am very interested in what drives conflict and how to reduce it. I just completed a one year graduate certificate program in interpersonal neurobiology, where my thesis involved my ongoing interest in combining neurobiology, personality/attachment, systems and context to better understand client’s needs in conflict and how to address them to achieve better outcomes in family law cases. I have enjoyed many PTN webinar series over the years, and I am looking forward to getting my mind around the language, strengths and weaknesses of the DSM 5, and how it compares to the DSM IV, ICD, and other approaches, including particularly to personality dysfunction.
I hope you will consider joining me in challenging ourselves and exercising our Social Engagement Systems.
