(Click to enlarge photo) To an overflowing crowd in Clallam County’s Courtroom 1, Brooke Taylor was sworn in by Washington State Supreme Court Chief Justice Gerry Alexander, as Clallam County’s new, and third, Superior Court judge on Wednesday, January 2, 2008. Present at the ceremony were numerous dignitaries including Washington Supreme Court Associate Chief Justice Charles W. Johnson, Supreme Court Justices Susan Owens, Mary Fairhurst and Debra L. Stephens, Washington Court of Appeal judges David Armstrong and Robin Hunt, Jefferson County Superior Court judge Craddock Verser, Jefferson County District Court Judge Mark Huth (ret), Kitsap County Superior Court judges Anna Laurie, Karen Connely, Leonard Costello, James Roper, and Leonard Kruse (ret.), United States District Court Judge Robert Bryan.
Clallam County officials present included Clallam County Superior Court Judges Ken Williams and George Wood, Clallam County Superior Court Family Court Commissioner William Knebes, Clallam County Commissioners Steve Tharinger and Mike Dougherty as well as the Clallam County Superior Court Clerk, Barbara Christiansen and County Administrator Jim Jones, Jr.
Also present was Stanley Bastian, President of the Washington State Bar Association Board of Governors, WSBA Executive Director Paula Littlewood, former WSBA Board of Governer Presidents Ronald Ward and Dick Manning, former member of the WSBA Board of Governors Marcine Anderson, Superior Court Clerks Linde Clevenger and Diane Ralston, former Superior Court Clerk and campaign manager Eddie Beck, members of Judge Talyor’s former law firm, Platt, Irwin (and formerly Taylor), many of Clallam County’s lawyers, and numerous family, friends and supporters of Brooke Taylor.
