Katie Krueger will present this CLE about administrative law (rulemaking) in regards to the dispute between the Native American Tribes in WA and Ecology/governor about: 1) The pace of promulgation of water quality standards to protect those who regularly eat fish, from ingesting too much toxic material or carcinogens, and 2) Levels the governor said he will find acceptable, as a settlement of sorts (unwritten) between the state and those who must dispose of water (municipal waste treatment plants, industry). It will cover some of the administrative procedure of the feds and WA, discuss what standards exist federally and currently with WA, issues regarding fish consumption rule amendment, how the criteria are set and what Oregon has done a few years ago, and how Oregon is doing.
