Judicial Forum July 16, 2010
The Judicial Forum will be held on July 16, 2010 from 11:45 to 1:15. The PDN and Sequim Gazette will be present and the forum will be recorded.
Steve Methner is not available as a moderator, so if someone has a suggestion, please contact President, Will Payne.
After the forum, the evaluation forms for prosecutor and judicial candidates will be mailed to only dues paid members for 2010 as of July 16, 2010. So, if you have not paid, please do so to Cliff Tassie. The evaluations will be mailed with a SASE envelope to return the evaluations to CCBA and the results will be blind. Past President, Carol Mortensen, President, Will Payne and 2011 President, Chris Koenig will tally the results and provide it to the members.

Bar Lunch 6/18/10: Prosecutor forum
The Clallam County Bar Association will host a candidate forum for the elected position of Prosecutor. The forum will be from 11:45 to 1:15 on Friday, June 18, 2010, at the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center located at 905 West 9th Street. Lunch is payable to it in the form of a check for $9.00 or cash in the exact amount
Will Payne, CCBA president feels that for impartiality purposes, Steve Methner, current president of the Rotary Club 2 of Port Angeles, will moderate. The format will be:
Ten minute open
Questions from audience that can be directed to a specific candidate or the panel and each candidate that answers gets three (3) minutes to answer.
If a question is directed to a specific candidate and another candidate wants to answer it, he/she gets a three (3) minute response.
We will judge how our time is and and each candidate will be given five (5) minutes to close and summarize why he/she is the best candidate for the position.
The purpose of the forum is for CCBA to analyze/review the candidates and the platforms.

WSBA ADR section web site update
The ADR section of the WSBA has implemented a new web site at www.wa-adr.ning.com. It is based on Web 2.0 standards and is oriented around a social networking and marketing orientation, which allows section members tools to collaborate and market their practices on a searchable site. Parts of the site are only accessible by members, and other parts are viewable by the public, which includes the ability to search for section members / mediators by geography skill and interests.
The ADR section provides services to people practicing ADR, and also for users of ADR services.
WSBA BOG is coming to Port Angeles
On April 23, 2010, the WSBA Board of Governers will host a luncheon in Port Angeles, at the Red Lion hotel (221 N. Lincoln Street) from 12-1:30. In addition to visiting and sharing, the BOG will honor two local heroes from Clallam and Jefferson County.
A local hero is someone who has exhibitied an “above and beyond” approach towards our community, ether by way of pro bono service or other means, that is deserving of acknowledgment .
