Tony Mauhar, J.D.: In memoriam 2018

May 16, 2018

Anthony Philip Mauhar, Jr., died on May 14, 2018, at the age of 68 after he fell from his boat  in the Port Townsend Boat Haven and drowned. Tony was a respected attorney, beloved by his clients, who practiced in Clallam and Jefferson Counties.

“Tony Mauhar was an excellent attorney and a great example to me. He death announcement here comes as a shock to me. He was a good-humored fellow and easy to work with. He sought to avoid conflict but argued persuasively in court when he had to. He willingly gave me advice on how to be a better attorney. I am touched by his loss and will miss him.” Joseph Wolfley

“Oh such sad news. Tony Mauhar was one of my first friends when I started practicing law in Port Angeles in 1994. He was always helpful and kind and had a great sense of humor. Over the years, he became a friend and I was happy when he return to the North Olympic Peninsula after being in Olympia for a bit. I am just devastated by his loss. He was a fine lawyer and an even better person. He will be missed.” Deborah Nelson

“Tony was always quick with a smile and pleasure to work with. It’s big loss for our community and his clients.” Mark Baumann

Wills Clinic June 30th

May 3, 2018

Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers is hosting a wills clinic on June 30th. This program is intended for simple wills only.

The clinic starts by pre-screening clients to ensure they qualify then, additional facts are gathered through a questionnaire before the clinic. At the clinic, clients are paired with individual attorneys to sit down and draft forms. Last year the majority of our clients left the clinic with a completed product.

Client screenings, for the upcoming clinic, have begun and additional attorney volunteers are needed. This “clinic in a box” style presentation makes it easy for volunteers to participate and the clients are always very grateful for the service.
The clinic is slated for June 30th from Noon-2:00 at the Landing Mall in Port Angeles. Please contact Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers at 360.504.2422, if you are interested in helping with this event.
