WHO: Speakers include Commissioner Brent Basden of Clallam County, Justice Steven Gonzalez of Washington State Superior Court, Attorneys Gabriel Galanda, Galanda Broadman, and J. Tate London, US attorney, Western District of WA, AND Peter Roberts, Practice of law advisor.

But while grandparents tell us their grandchildren are their greatest joy, sharing the care with their adult children isn’t always smooth sailing. Join ZERO TO THREE for a live, interactive virtual event—learn more about how grandparents view their role and get tips on helping families navigate this essential three-generation relationship. This free virtual event is open to parents, providers, and of course, grandparents! Handouts will be provided, and Rebecca Parlakian, Senior Director of Programs at ZERO TO THREE, will answer questions following the presentation.

Noah Purcell & Jorge Baron, Thoughts on Immigration Law – July 28, 2017

Clallam – Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers are having a fundraiser, in which all proceeds go to benefit their organization. On Friday, July 28, at the little theater on the Peninsula College Port Angeles campus. They will be hosting a presentation with guest speakers Noah Purcell and Jorge Baron. These individuals will speak about immigration law during the time of the newest presidency. The suggested donation is $20.00.

Domestic Violence Pro Bono Clinic- June 23, 2017

The Law Office of Mark Baumann is hosting a domestic violence legal clinic, starting tomorrow, June 23, 2017 through December 31, 2017. They are attempting to reach out to domestic violence victims and help them to achieve safety and stability through guiding them with free counsel and legal paperwork drafting for domestic violence protection orders. They encourage eligible clients to contact  them, at 360.504.0409,  between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. on Mondays or 2:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M on Friday.

In addition, this clinic will be used as a way to collect research for BELARI. The goal of BELARI is to help improve the legal system by researching and applying interdisciplinary concepts to legal counseling and representation. Law at the Landing- June 24

The Clallam County Bar Association is hosting Law at the Landing this Saturday from noon to 3:00.  This drop-in clinic is a great way to serve your community without committing to long term representation. Contact Shauna Rogers if you are available to volunteer at 360.504.2422.

Resilience Training – May 15 & 16

On May 15th & 16th of this month, Forks Abuse Program is hosting a training by Linda Chamberlain PhD, MPH. The training will offer a strengths based approach that highlights resilience-promoting practices with families. Building a more caring, empathetic and resilient community has been an ongoing project for the Forks Abuse Program.
