2012 Superior Court Position 1 Candidates Forum

June 7, 2012

The Friday, June 15 CCBA Luncheon will be a 1.5 hour Superior Court Position 1 Candidates Forum. President Barnhart has sent an invitation through Punchbowl. If you received that invitation, please RSVP through Punchbowl. If you did not receive the invitation, please RSVP to me through his email account.

The four candidates are Erik Rohrer, Will Payne, Chris Melly, and Curtis Johnson. Each candidate will be present on June 15. The format will include 5-minute introductions by each candidate, 5-minute final remarks from each candidate, and open questions as time permits. Each candidate will be given an opportunity to respond to questions asked.

Questions from the audience, will be allowed as time allows. If you wish to submit a question to beforehand, to be read at the forum, you may do so by sending your question to Simon Barnhart at this email address:

The event is at the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center, 905 W. 9th Street in Port Angeles. It will begin at 11:30 and will end at 1:00. Lunch will be available at the usual cost of $9.50, payable to “Skills Center.”

We look forward to a high attendance for this event. Please be sure to RSVP so the Skills Center culinary department may plan accordingly.

2012 Judicial Candidates

May 20, 2012

Chris Melly, Curtis Johnson, Erik Rohrer and William Payne, have filed for Clallam County Superior Court Position 1, which is being vacated by retiring  Judge Ken Williams.

The all mail primary election is August 7, 2012, and ballots will mailed out July 18, 2012, to registered voters. If one candidate achieves more than 50% of the vote, that candidate will win the election and there will be no voting in the general election. Otherwise, the top two vote earners will proceed to the all mail general election on November 6, 2012, and ballots will be mailed on October 17, 2012.

Ballots will be mailed to voters July 18 for the state’s top-two Aug. 7 primary.

Ballots will be mailed to voters Oct. 17 for the Nov. 6 general election.
